Record number of applicants for Scandinavian Photo’s photography grant

In late February the application for Scandinavian Photo:s scholarship “Fotostipendiet 2015” was closed. This year it attracted a record number of applicants – over 600 grants will be judged within four categories: Blog, Expedition/Adventure/Action, Film and Photography. 

The scholarship was established in 2012 in order to encourage creativity in film and photography. Every year 100 000 SEK is allocated between four photography and film related projects, in order to give the winners an opportunity to take their photo project to a higher level.

- We are glad to see the great interest in film and photography. The applications come from all over Sweden, and show great creativity. We received over 600 applications - now it is time for a comprehensive but inspiring jury work to find the winners in each category. The Scholarship is for us a way to show our appreciation for the people who helps to inspire others to express themselves through film and photography, says Maria Göransdotter Lindén, CMO at Scandinavian Photo.

The jury work will begin in early March and the winners will be presented during May. Since 2012, 12 fellows have been awarded a total of 300 000 SEK.
