Scandinavian Photo appointing annual grant recipients

After weeks of hard jury work of over 600 film and photography project Scandinavian Photo announces this year's Scholarship grantees.

During the application period over 600 entries was received for this year's photo scholarship - everything from documentary films to artistic photo installations and exciting adventure expeditions. Four projects in different categories were chosen by the jury. The four grantees are:

Blog Project: "INSTAVIEW" by Joacim Lundin awarded SEK 10 000
Jury statement:
An innovative projects that shine in the crowd. Instaview is a neat and well-packaged platform that is designed to highlight other photographers. We think this feels fresh, right in time and gives a thumb up to Joacim!

Expedition: "TAKE ME TO GREENLAND" by Jonas Jacobsson awarded SEK 20 000
Jury statement:
The warm application by a talented and passionate photographer attracted our interest. The Arctic Big Five was a new concept for us and we are confident that Jonas will document this in Greenland’s magical setting in a great way.

Photography Project: "MONOCHROME" by Emelie Otterbeck awarded SEK 35 000
Jury statement:
An exciting photo project that stands out with its artistic expression, simplicity and clearly elaborate project idea. Emelie has a drive and keen eye for color, form and composition. We look forward to the exhibition of her pictures with great enthusiasm.

Film Project: "WAITING FOR DAVID" by Karin Oleander and Emelie Svensson awarded SEK 35 000
Jury statement:
After 10 seconds, we were intrigued by the trailer. Everything is there - the feeling, the editing, sound and image. It is with great honor we assign Emelie and Karin the film scholarship to continue working on the project for survivors of the poignant and tragic events surrounding David Koresh.
