STING Day 2014 participants get to know impact driven donations

Stockholm Innovation and Growth (STING) has followed Shifo closely since the start. Their annual event STING Day gathers start-ups and investors for building new partnerships. This year, all visitors got to know Shifo and got the chance to try out being a donor and experience impact driven donations and full transparency in reporting.

STING wanted to introduce their community to Shifo Foundation, consisting of a team of social entrepreneurs, who are solving a pressing social issue on a large scale. Every visitor and speaker received a gift voucher with a small donation made on their behalf by the STING team. By registering online, the participants are able to follow the impact of their donations and get access to key data such as children registered and fully vaccinated.

Some of the donations made by STING were used for the completion of the implementation of MyChild information and support system in the Mukono District. The implementation has recently been completed and the participants have received their first implementation reports. The gift vouchers have expired and all donations are added to the campaign. However, If you would like to follow the impact of the STING campaign you can see the report on http://shifo.org/stingday/

Shifo’s 100% model provides complete transparency in donations. The implementation report shows expenditures and provides the donors with access to real-time information on the project impact. On the Shifo landing page www.shifo.org data on the number of registered and fully vaccinated children are made available.

”Social entrepreneurship has the power to accelerate development that changes society and improves living conditions, and it feels great to support Shifo. Today, I can see that 4403 children have been registered and 750 are fully vaccinated as a result of the Every Child Counts in Mukono campaign that we supported”, says Jill Lindström, director of marketing and communications at STING. By providing full transparency, Shifo believes that more people will feel encouraged to become donors and join the movement to ensure that every child receives essential health services. Structured vaccination delivery saves children’s lives and improves global health!
