2017 is around the corner and the question is what will be hot and cold in the next year. Will it be a runner up - digital identification?

The seven technology trends that will dominate in 2017 is well described by Forbes in a recent article. Almost all technology in the top list rely on the business knowing its customer (KYC), device or machine (KYIoT and KYM).

In Europe, EIDAS (electronic identification and trust services for electronic transactions) has taken huge steps in materialising from the shadows of good intent into something that early adopters could start certifying for. Digital identification didn't make it to the top seven in 2017 but the odds are higher when looking into the crystal ball a year from now.
