Highlights of 2016 – what we have done so far

This past year has been eventful to say the least. One of the big happenings was the launch of the Human Centered Business Index, where the 10 frontrunners of business beyond sustainability were presented.

Lumen Behavior also went to Almedalen and held an appreciated seminar about the future of business and the possibility for them to help solve our shared societal problems.

Since then, the Human Centered Business Index has gained a lot of traction and recently even was praised as one of top 10 social innovations by Forum for Social Innovation Sweden at the Social Innovation Summit 2016. Besides that, the science and research behind the index was acknowledged and published in the academic peer reviewed journal European Public & Social Innovation review.

We’ve also worked on several projects with clients during the year. One of those was the Frösunda Confidence report of 2016, a GRI report with a focus on the customer’s perspective. Frösunda has taken customer focus to the next level, acting as thought leader in its field, and we are proud to have taken part of that journey. Another interesting project we took part in was the developing of a “get started kit” for the non-profit organization Musketörerna i Rågsved. The kit consists of instructions to the method, tools and know-how on how to build new associations the Musketörerna way. The goal is that new organizations will start popping up across Sweden, all working towards creating social inclusion for the most vulnerable members of society.

This winter we are very excited to release the book “Srey – Tales of Urban Girlhood”, authored by Lumen Behaviors Founder and CEO Johanna Hallin, together with our Co-founder Evelina Fredriksson.Srey is a book about the skill of empathy, one of the key components of a Human Centered Business. The point of Srey is to highlight the need of empathic meetings from dumpsite – to boardrooms. The photos in the book is taken by the very talented photographer Sotarn

The book will be released at Rönnells Antikvariat on the 14th of January, read more and RSVP here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1802320023322432/

Throughout the year we have been highlighting the skill of empathy, in our own work and together with clients. We firmly believe that empathy is a key skill that is needed to navigate a rapidly changing future, and imperative for business leaders, policy makers and members of society to master.

We will continue this work, and take our new knowledge with us as we step into the next year of 2017.
