The design of Temal JÄÄ Bathroom Collection draws inspiration from the arctic ice and ice melting into water. JÄÄ is the Finnish word for ice and also a statement for the origin of the designer and the manufacturer. Based on the arctic inspiration the concept forms the foundation for both the functionality and the aesthetics of the collection. Creating collections based on a strong design concept is a novel approach for Temal and aligns with the strategy of being a design-driven company with a thriving functional edge.

The concept of the JÄÄ collection has been carefully refined to correspond with Temal’s customer promise of functional design and flexible dimensioning. The end result being a bathroom collection based on a strong design that at the same time gives the customer the freedom of customizing according to Temal’s principles of modularity and 5 cm adjustability.

The unique shape of collection’s enameled wash basin displays the versatile design potential of enamel as a material. The enameled surface the same as in porcelain but the core is steel as opposed to clay, creating a more durable and lighter solution. Temal has a 95-year history of enameling and is the only company in Finland manufacturing this durable, light and easily transformable material. The use of enamel enables the modularity, which is in the core of Temal and its bespoke concept of functional design furniture.

Temal JÄÄ Bathroom Collection is designed by Studio Sebastian Jansson, with whom Temal has been successfully collaborating since 2013.
