Simon Larsson drives ADAC TCR Germany 2017 with Target Competition and Audi RS 3 LMS

The 19 year old racing talent Simon Larsson from Sweden have today signed with the Italian racing team Target Competition to drive the full series in ADAC TCR Germany next year. Simon will drive the new Audi RS 3 LMS and will start testing in February 2017.

Target Competiton with Josh Files became 2016 ADAC TCR German champions and the year before in 2015 they won TCR international with Stefano Comini.

Simon will leave Audi Sport TT Cup where he raced in 2016 and finished 6th place among the juniors and 12th in the total. To continue with Audi have been essential and an important decision for Simon.

"My relation with Audi is great and I feel that their professionalism goes all the way through in their motorsport program. The fact that I also can drive for the reigning champion team, Target Competition is perfect for my future. It is the perfect path for me to establish myself in the absolute top in Touring Car racing in Germany and then a professional driver in TCR international. It's a path to my ultimate dream, to be a TCR world champion and then drive DTM"

Simon will also work with the former world cup slalom skier, Thomas Fogdö for mental coaching. The calendar for ADAC TCR Germany is ready and if the budget and sponsors permit, Simon also look forward to drive some races in the international series, the weekend in Monaco with F1 is high on the wish list.

Simon made four test drives in TCR Germany this year with Target Competition in Zandvoort and Hockenheim. Especially the qualification speed impressed, with 5th best time (of 26 cars) in Hockenheim, only 0,07 seconds from established top driver like Harald Prozcyk and 2nd fastest time among the Seat Leon TCR's.
