Tiger of Sweden named Accessory Brand of the Year by Café

Tiger of Sweden was named Accessory Brand of the Year at Café Magazine’s annual fashion awards yesterday. The award was received by the design duo behind the brand’s accessory line at an exclusive gala dinner at the Grand Hôtel in Stockholm.

– It’s such an honour to be given the Accessory Brand of the Year award, especially as our new accessory line has only been around for a few seasons. This shows that our efforts to move the accessory line in-house hit home – a confirmation that we’re on the right track, said Chiara Borgonovo and Mia Bencker, behind Tiger of Sweden’s accessories and shoes.

Tiger of Sweden launched a complete collection of accessories for the first time in spring 2013. All accessories, with some models previously produced in collaboration with external partners, are now made in-house at the brand. Design, production and sales are all conducted under Tiger of Sweden’s roof. Andreas Gran, product manager for the accessories line explains:

– Moving production and design in-house gives us control over the accessory line in a different way than before. It allows us to imbue an expression and design philosophy that runs through all our collections, regardless if we’re talking about clothes or bags. What’s more, there’s greater focus on the line internally now, giving us the opportunity to enhance the collection, both in terms of quality and design.

The title as Accessory Brand of the Year was awarded Tiger of Sweden with the statement:
‘Last winter, Tiger of Sweden launched its own accessory collection, designed and produced in-house. Luxury handbags in leather from the venerable Tärnsjö tannery, boots with a rock’n’roll attitude and lots of smart wallets, belts and covers for technology gadgets. Success is just the beginning.’
