Troax Announces SEK 50 million investment in Hillerstorp

Easier colour selection for Troax mesh panels.

Troax has announced that it will be investing SEK 50 million in a new painting facility in Tyngel, Hillerstorp.

“An Increasing numbers of customers are choosing non-standard colours, and of course we want to meet this demand with even shorter short painting lead times,” explains CEO Thomas Widstrand.

Providing the correct colour of safety walls in production and warehouse areas has become an important profiling issue for the industry. Walls can be painted in everything from strong signal colours to harmonised colour palettes; for example, Front Automation in Jönköping has a graphic profile combining black and white.

Front Automation’s CEO, Thomas Rosell, says “It’s easy to buy machine guarding from Troax in whatever colour we want, and with fast delivery times”.

The world’s largest factory

Troax currently has the world’s largest and most efficient facility for the manufacturing of mesh panels that are used for a variety of industrial warehouse, and storage area applications. The product area is now being expanded to a total of 30,000 square metres to accommodate the new painting facility.

“We’re expanding 2,000 square metres to the west for our new painting line,” says Thomas Widstrand. “The new facility allows us to increase both the flexibility and quality of painting.”

Building for a growing market

“The market for customised security is growing, so we’re positive about the future. The new paint line doesn’t require any additional staff itself, but over time we’ll definitely need more people in production should this growth continue,” Thomas Widstrand explains.

As recently as 2010, Troax invested SEK 30 million in a new production line for the manufacturing of mesh panels - the largest component in the company’s modular system for various protective wall systems.  “This was an important step in improving our production flow. Now it’s time for the next big step,” continues Thomas Widstrand.

Meeting future environmental requirements

The new painting facility will be in use from 2016 and will completely replace the existing facility. Troax’s painting process has been solvent-free for a long time now, which is why the greatest environmental benefit will be a reduction in our overall energy consumption.

“We’re expecting the new painting process to provide us with greater potential to meet future environmental requirements,” says Thomas Widstrand.
