Twingly to Germany - Handelsblatt first out with blog links

Swedish blog search engine Twingly signs agreement with the leading German business newspaper Handelsblatt. The daily newspaper is the first in Germany with blog comments.
"It's a strategically important deal and a good starting point for Twinglys expansion in Germany," said Martin Källström, CEO of Twingly.

The business newspaper Handelsblatt today launched Twingly Blog Stream, a service that shows which bloggers have written about each article on the newspaper's website.

"We're obviously delighted that Handelsblatt is the first in Germany to open up to the German bloggers views and comments," said Martin Källström. "Since the German blogosphere is one of Europe's largest, it's an important market for us. Our search engine, covers nearly half a million blogs in German."

Twingly Blog Stream is used by many leading newspapers and e-marketplaces in Europe. Overall, the company has customers in ten different European markets.

"Our strategy is to go into each new market by signing agreements with the biggest and most important media," said Martin Källström. "It lays the groundwork for a long-term market presence."

"Our goal is to be the number one blog search engine in Europe and our international expansion goes according to plan," said Martin Källström. "Today, more than a quarter of our turnover is from other countries than Sweden, and I expect that the percentage will grow to nearly 80 percent."
