Copywriter Sven Lindström has joined *UP There, Everywhere. Based in Malmö, Sweden, Sven started his career as a music journalist at Sydsvenska Dagbladet, spending the best part of the 80’s interviewing pop stars and reviewing concerts and records.

Fascinated by the possibilities of commercial communication and sensing the link between a great ad and a brilliant pop single, Sven moved into advertising in the late 80’s. He’s been working with UP founders Julian Stubbs and Eric Dowell in the Anglo/Swedish agency Dowell Stubbs as well as Bates Sweden and a three-year stint as head of Swedish communication at J Walter Thompson’s Nordic hub in Copenhagen. For the better part of the 90’s and early 00’s he was also a columnist at Sydsvenska Dagbladet.

Working as an independent writer since 2003, Sven is now a member of Bartle Bogle Hegarty’s London based network of international writers for clients like British Airways, Omo/Via and Axe, as well as working with Swedish and Danish agencies like Ogilvy, Halbye Kaag JWT and Konovalenko for numerous global and local brands.

He published his first book, an authorised biography on Roxette star Per Gessle in 2007. In 2011 he was commissioned to write the story of Swedish company Thule’s rise from humble sub-contractor to global outdoor brand. He is currently finishing his third book project, due out in 2012.

For three hours every week, Sven and Per Gessle also hosts Nordic Rox—a show that under the tagline ”good looking music” presents Scandinavian music for an American audience on Sirius XM Satellite Radio’s channel The Spectrum, Sven putting together the shows on his MacBook in Malmö and posting them for final production and broadcasting at the Sirius XM headquarters in New York.
