​Kalle Lyrén gunning for title and European record at The Scandinavian Internationals

With a 48 point championship lead, VEIDEC Racing rider Kalle Lyrén is looking forward to the EDRS Pro Nordic Motorcycle finals at Tierp Arena this weekend. Kalle Lyrén, who is unbeaten this year, is set to repeat his 2014 win of the Nordic championship.

”We’ve been fastest at every race this year and we have had an unbelievable consistency”, says Kalle. ”The whole package, rider, bike and engine is working together like a unit and it gives the whole team confidence. We know what to do and how to get the bike where we want it to be.”

Key to the success this year has been the incredibly consistent times Kalle has been posting on the score boards. In Alastaro, Finland, Kalle set an ET of 6.98, the fastest he has ever run in Europe. Now he is gunning for the fastest ET ever in Europe, 6.95.

”Our first goal is to beat ourselves, the 6.98 from Finland, then we will definitely go for a sub 6.95”, says Kalle. ”The 6.95 is not even the official European record, it wasn’t backed up within one percent of that time but it is still the fastest anyone has gone and we want to beat that and also make it official in the process. A Nordic championship title and a European record would be a great way of finishing off our European season.”

The Scandinavian Internationals at Tierp Arena starts Thursday 25th and the excitement builds up until the finals on Sunday 28th. More info on the event on www.tierp.arena.com
