The party game app “Tipsyflix” wins at last weekend’s Film and TV Hackathon

After 48 hours of intense hacking the jury revealed that the creators behind the app “Tipsyflix” had won the competition. The app is a party game and makes its participants watch their favourite films over and over again. “We agreed that this was something we would go home and use ourselves tonight”, said one of the jury members.

“The Film & TV Hackathon” was an event arranged by VionLabs dedicated to all coders, developers, designers, visual artists and innovators. Participants had 48 hours to find solutions and create new ideas in how technology can enrich the film world. Joachim Hedenius, Per-Anders Legerud, Jakob Bergendahl, Thomas Byegrel and Alexander Bethke managed to create the most innovative and clever solution with their winning app “Tipsyflix”.

-  It was a hard decision to make, but we agreed that this was something we would go home and use ourselves tonight. A few members of the jury might come over to my place, and we’ll gather around the couch and choose a good movie and see who knows the most about that movie! I also think the app has excellent consumer appeal, says Yashar Moradbakhti, member of the jury and CTO at MTGx.

Expressen was the media partner at the event and were broadcasting for the duration of the weekend. They also participated with their own team, who presented a solution that would drive target groups of a younger age to web TV.

Sweden is one of the most exciting tech innovators for film and TV in Europe. The aim of this Hackathon was to create tech motivation to maintain Sweden's position in this field. The next Film & TV Hackathon is scheduled to take place in autumn 2014.
