VionLabs have been awarded “Guldmobilen 2013”!

It was set up to be a good evening at last night’s Mobile Gala in Stockholm, Sweden. Many impressive companies were shortlisted to win the prestigious award, but after the jury’s vote it was VionLabs who were presented with the award in the category Mobile Innovation of the Year.

The jury confirmed last night VionLabs’ position as leaders within mobile innovation in Sweden. The prize was awarded on the grounds that VionLabs focus on developing unique solutions for screens other than the mobile, which combined with a one of a kind recommendation engine sets a new standard for how consumers are given advice for good and suitable film and TV. There is an existing demand for these solutions on the market, which has been proven through VionLabs' recent collaboration with Spotify.

The competition in the category for Mobile Innovation of the Year was fierce, with many innovative solutions spanning over a range of areas. Among the shortlisted companies were Instabridge, Bankgirot/Swish, Zimpl and DoReMIR (with Mobiento).

VionLabs made their mark on the mobile world as early as 2011 when they won “Best Movie Service” in Mobile Magazine. They will continue to develop products that focus on the user.

“Guldmobilen” is awarded annually to the most innovating and best mobile companies. The winners are chosen by a jury consisting of the editorial staff of the magazine “Mobil”, and in some cases also by their readers.

VionLabs is a Swedish tech company with offices in both Stockholm and Barcelona. The company has since 2009 developed digital ecosystems for network operators, cable TV companies, and film distributors with primary focus on user experience. Mobile TV was the first “next generation” product they developed, which they named Social Mobile Cloud. VionLabs work with customers such as Tele2/Conviq, Cyberia, and Warner Bros. to name a few.
