Great interest for the MiniTEM system at the Biotech Week in Boston October 4-7, 2016

The new MiniTEM low voltage transmission electron microscope system, specifically designed to characterize nanoparticles, was introduced for the first time to a larger audience at the Boston Biotech Week. The system combines Vironova’s advanced software for microscope control, automation and analysis with Delong Instrument’s low voltage technologies. This combination results in a compact system that runs in any laboratory setting and does not require specialist skills to operate.

MiniTEM offers objective and reliable information on particle morphology, integrity, size distribution and sample purity of virus, virus like structures and other nano-sized particulate structures by providing a combination of visual proof and quantitative data.

As part of the Biotech week conference program the workshop “Reveal information that gives insights – New approaches to sub-visible particle characterization” was presented by the technical product owner Dr. Gustaf Kylberg together with Dr. Josefina Nilsson, head of EM services. The presentation showed a case study how to automatically image to obtain an accurate metrics of the purity of two Adenovirus particle samples in very short time.
