PINK FLOYD AVSLÖJAR DETALJER KRING DET KOMMANDE ALBUMET
Den 10 november släpper Pink Floyd nya plattan ”The Endless River” som är producerad av David Gilmour, Phil Manzanera, Youth och Andy Jackson. Tidigare bandmedlemmen Rick Wright gick bort för 7 år sedan och plattan är den sista med medlemmarna David Gilmour, Rick Wright och Nick Mason.
David Gilmour kommenterar följande om albumet:
“The Endless River has as its starting point the music that came from the 1993 Division Bell sessions. We listened to over 20 hours of the three of us playing together and selected the music we wanted to work on for the new album. Over the last year we've added new parts, re-recorded others and generally harnessed studio technology to make a 21st century Pink Floyd album. With Rick gone, and with him the chance of ever doing it again, it feels right that these revisited and reworked tracks should be made available as part of our repertoire.”
Nick Mason fortsätter:
“The Endless River is a tribute to Rick. I think this record is a good way of recognizing a lot of what he does and how his playing was at the heart of the Pink Floyd sound. Listening back to the sessions, it really brought home to me what a special player he was.”
“The Endless River” är främst ett instrumentalt album men singeln ‘Louder Than Words’ är med sång.
Albumomslaget som visar en man som ror på en “flod” av moln skapades av Ahmed Emad Eldin, en 18-årig egyptisk digital konstnär. Ahmed’s bild har sedan återskapats av den prisbelönta brittiska designbyrån Stylorouge.
Pink Floyd’s albumomslag, tidigare skapade av Storm Thorgerson är nästan lika legendariska som bandets musik. Efter Storms bortgång har uppdraget gått till Audrey ”Po” Powell som försöker förvalta arbetet som Storm lämnat efter sig.
