QuizRR's Worker Engagement (WE) pilot, launched together with Ethical Trading Initiative Norway (IEH) and eleven of their member companies, was summarized on August 17 in Oslo. The eleven companies participated in the pilot together with suppliers in both China and Bangladesh, and with over 6200 completed training sessions we have made valuable learnings for the upcoming implementation phase.
IL Bangla Limited (Bangladesh) is one of the factories that introduced QuizRR to their workforce through Ethical Trading Initiative Norway and its member company Varner - one of Scandinavia's leading textile companies. Since then, the factory has trained more than 550 employees to improve knowledge, involvement, and dialogue at the workplace. Their commitment has resulted in improved worker-management relations and therefore better working environments for the nearly 700 people working in the factory.
- Our goal is to be an agent of positive change for our stakeholders and community, by pursuing an ethical and sustainable business. Therefore we are happy to train our workforce with QuizRR, said Sr. Raihan Siddique, Manager at IL Bangla Limited.
For their great efforts, they have been selected as a supplier of the month by QuizRR in August 2017.
Another supplier with positive training results is the Chinese production company Eton Candle Factory. The factory joined QuizRR through Ethical Trading Initiative Norway and their member company Unil last year, and their results will be important for further rollout in China.
We are happy to collaborate with Ethical Trading Initiative Norway to advance corporate responsibility in global supply chains. Represented by NGOs, Trade Unions, businesses and the Enterprise Federation of Norway, IEH is a resource center and advocate for ethical trade practices. Their objective is cooperation on trade which promotes human rights, workers’ rights, development and environmental standards.
