FULL ACTIVITY IN VING’S GIFT CARD FACTORY
As a result of a large campaign, Ving Sweden had to send out 13 000 gift cards to their customers. How to handle it? One creates an event in which employees help out with the packaging.
Ving Sweden, part of the Thomas Cook Group, is truly a digitalized company, but sometimes the unexpected business successes sets processes back to manual handling. Right before Christmas they ran a campaign that yielded astonishing results and the sales of gift cards landed at around 40 million SEK.
”And now we had to distribute the gift cards to the 13 000 households that participated. Obviously we could have let a third party handle it, but seeing as we truly loathe unnecessary costs, we invited colleagues from the head office to help out as volunteers”, says Hans Isacsson, CFO at Ving Sweden. And the colleagues were truly engaged in the process. About 30 employees, including management, settled down at the tables to finish the task. As a result of general speed and positivity, over 4 000 letters had been packed already after 45 minutes.
The letters that are being sent to the customers contain a gift card with a value between 2 000 and 4 000 SEK, and also a letter and a specially designed booklet from Ving.”Now we look forward to seing sales numbers increase, as these gift cards are being converted into the best weeks of the year “, finishes Hans.
