The 2012 Winter Tällberg Forum will take place in the beautiful and reflective environment of the Sigtuna Foundation “Sigtunastiftelsen” just outside of Stockholm. Bringing together 50-70 leaders, the questions posed to participants will be “Is Free Speech also the business of Free Enterprise?”. The objective of this 48 hour conversation is to open up a conversation exploring the role of companies, including those in the media business and those doing business in developing markets, in the promotion, support and protection of free speech. Open and free information is the best tool for creativity, innovation and fair competition. As such free speech must be a cornerstone of open markets and enterprise. But, how much responsibility for ensuring this business environment can reasonably rest with business itself? The conversations at the Winter Forum will result in new insights that can reveal strategies for change. This topic will be further addressed at the summer 2012 Tällberg Forum as part of an analysis of the evolving identity of the responsible corporation and the widening role of business in driving change in a world of complex relationships.

Om mindre än tre månader är det dags för Tällberg Forum 2011 i Sigtuna. Händelseutvecklingen i världen visar på brister i våra institutioner för att möta de globala utmaningarna vad gäller energi, produktion, miljö och mänskliga relationer. Vi försöker möta framtidens problem med dåtidens institutioner och därmed finns behov att ompröva de verktyg för styrning vi har idag. Därför är frågan som ställs på Tällberg Forum 2011: ”How can we agree to agree?” Eller, hur kan vi hitta nya sätt att organisera oss för att gemensamt lösa de kritiska problem vi ställs inför? Under fyra dagar kommer 500 representanter för samhälle, organisationer, politik och näringsliv från över 60 länder att samlas för att diskutera frågan. The question we ask is simple: how can we turn these emerging entrepreneurial efforts into transformative forces of change?
