700 miljoner euro till temaområde HÄLSA! GöteborgBIO och Västra Götalandsregionen bjuder in till diskussion om finansieringsmöjligheter inom EU:s sjunde ramprogram för forskning och utveckling (FP7), temaområde Hälsa, samt om stödmöjligheter till företag. I juli i år öppnas sista utlysningsomgången för projektmedel inom sjunde ramprogrammet för forskning och utveckling (FP7). År 2014 tar det nya ramprogrammet för forskning och innovation, Horizon2020, över. Uppskattningsvis 700 miljoner euro är öronmärkta för Hälsa denna omgång. Under seminariet presenterar Västra Götalandsregionen troliga kommande projektutlysningar, framförallt inom de tre prioriterade områdena Biomaterial, Kardiovaskulära sjukdomar/ metabolism, samt Hälsoteknik. SwedenBIO informerar sedan om sitt uppdrag som EU-support office för Life Science sektorn i Sverige, med möjlighet att erbjuda stöd och råd avseende finansieringsmöjligheter inom EU:s program för forskning, utveckling och innovation.

Medicinteknik är en av de viktiga tillväxtbranscherna inom svensk Life Science. Branschens företag är ofta internationellt verksamma och utsatta för stark global konkurrens. För att undanröja onödiga hinder och minska tiden till marknadsintroduktion för medicintekniska innovationer krävs att sjukvården, myndigheter och kontrollorgan samverkar på bästa sätt för att effektivisera alla nödvändiga processer. En ny studie från VINNOVA tar pulsen på den svenska life science-industrin. Resultaten presenteras den 14 juni i Göteborg. Life Science - bioteknik, läkemedel och medicinteknik - är en av Sveriges viktigaste exportnäringar. Vinnova-studien, som gjorts i samarbete med svenska life science-regioner och Addendi AB, är en kartläggning som visar hur utvecklingen sett ut i företagen och regionerna under åren 1997-2009. - Hur klarar företagen i Sverige den globala konkurrensen? - Vilken typ av företag växer och vilka slås ut? - Hur utvecklas antalet företag och antalet anställda i Sverige? - Vilka företag och regioner klarade krisen bäst? - Hur ser utvecklingen i Västra Götaland ut? GöteborgBIO welcomes you to an international stem cell seminar in Gothenburg on December 1st this year. This half-day seminar will show our region´s position in the international stem cell community, expose the possiblilties and stimulate to future developments by showing results and collaborations. Keynote speaker is Sir Ian Wilmut, currently Director of the Centre for Regenerative Medicine at the University of Edinburgh. His presentation "Stem Cells for Developments of New Therapies — an Area of Immense Potential" will focus on the diverse possibilities for all parties involved in stem cell development. Sir Ian is a British embryologist and best known as the leader of the research group that in 1996 first cloned a mammal from an adult somatic cell, the lamb named Dolly. The programme will be divided into blocks focusing on the European, National, Scientific and Industrial perspectives with leading international opinion leaders as speakers. You will listen to Professor Arnd Hoeveler from the European Commission Brussels, Dr Lennart Åkerblom of the Medical Products Agency Stockholm, Professor Magnus Ingelman-Sundberg Karolinska Institutet Stockholm, Professor Anders Lindahl Sahlgrenska University Hospital Gothenburg, Professor Per-Ove Sjöquist AstraZeneca Mölndal and Dr Johan Hyllner Cellartis Gothenburg. The formal programme will be followed by a discussion about future possibilities for our regional biomedical cluster.
