Strong first 6 months at VXO with 25% growth

The first 6 months saw passenger numbers increase by 25% at Växjö Småland Airport (VXO) in the south of Sweden. Growth has been strong across all segments of the market but the largest increase has come from the new Ryanair route to Gdansk and the inaugural Wizzair route to Tuzla.

"We are delighted with the current growth at the airport and look forward to welcoming Czech Airlines back tomorrow on the summer route to Prague and then next Friday Wizzair will add their 2nd destination to the airport connecting Växjö with Skopje in Macedonia. We have adjusted the current forecast to around 230 000 passengers for calendar year 2017", says Brett Weihart, GM Aviation Business.

The total number of passengers through the airport in the first 6 months was just over 90 000.
