  • Recognized for technological innovation and business values

  • Promotes trade between Sweden and the Philadelphia region

Philadelphia, December 5, 2013 – The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce-Philadelphia selected Specops Software Inc. for its annual business entrepreneurial award. The award recognizes companies that make a significant contribution to the exchange of trade and commerce between the Philadelphia region and Sweden. An important aspect of the award is choosing a company that promotes Swedish business values, such as commitment to technology and innovation, corporate social responsibility and sustainable business practices.

Specops Software develops solutions for desktop and password management which extend the functionality of Microsoft technology. This helps IT departments in companies, government organizations and education institutions save time and cut costs by eliminating manual tasks.

“Specops Software Inc. is dedicated to innovation in technology and is regularly recognized for its innovative products by industry peers,” says David Engstrom, President of SACC-Philadelphia. “Specops Software was chosen to receive this year’s award for its dedication to technology innovation and promoting Swedish business values in its company culture. We’ve been impressed with the success the company has experienced and the dynamic leadership in place.”

Specops Software opened its offices in Philadelphia two years ago, after serving all of North America from Toronto, Canada since 2005. Expanding into North America was a natural step for Specops Software, which helps IT professionals around the world. Philadelphia was chosen for its strategic location in the United States.

“Philadelphia is a central location on the east coast where many of our customers have offices,” says Marcus Kaber, CEO of Specops Software. “We’ve managed to recruit talented local staff and have seen tremendous growth in just two years. When we opened the office we had just one employee; today we have six and are continuing to grow.”

Michael Ubaldini, President Specops US, says: “I am very proud to accept this award on behalf of Specops Software Inc. and our employees in Philadelphia. It’s inspiring to be a part of a company where the entrepreneurial spirit is strong and every person’s role is important.”

The Philadelphia Swedish Chamber of Congress’ Business Entrepreneurial Award has been given for the past four years. Previous recipients include QlikTech, SCA Americas and SKF USA.
