More than 150 Better Shelter units have been installed by UNHCR and implementing partners in the Kara Tepe site in Lesvos where they function as temporary accommodation, offices and medical aid clinics.
One shelter is delivered in two boxes, weighing a total of 169 kg.
Lack of safety is a great concern in refugee camps. Better Shelter has a door that is lockable from the inside and the outside, which can be secured with a padlock. Thanks to the shelter’s modular design, the door can be placed either on the shelter’s long side or on the gable wall.
