PostNord selects TCS as cloud partner to transform IT infrastructure services and operations

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has been selected by PostNord as the cloud partner to transform PostNord’s IT infrastructure services and operations for Sweden.

In response to changes in the operational environment, PostNord decided to create a balanced logistics operation with a focus on e-commerce in the Nordic market. This required a new setup for the organization’s datacenter hosting and operations. In November last year, PostNord signed a framework agreement with TCS, as one of the three preferred partners for IT operations, development and management.

TCS will now migrate and transform PostNord’s existing datacenters in Sweden to TCS’ Nordic Cloud Center. This program leverages TCS global expertise to re-engineer data center infrastructure. The result will be a modern and flexible platform that supports PostNord’s business ambitions.

With 6,000 distribution points, and handling around 5.2 billion mail items and 130 million parcels per year, PostNord connects people and businesses reliably, efficiently and on time. PostNord is determined to deliver world-class communication and logistics solutions to satisfied customers.

The contract win is a major milestone for TCS as the first of its kind for in the public sector for the Nordic region. TCS has identified substantial opportunities in increasing IT systems efficiency in the Nordic public sector.

Globally, TCS has delivered impressive public sector transformation programs elsewhere. In the UK, for instance, TCS partnered with the National Employment Savings Trust to create the country’s next generation workplace pension scheme.
