Julian Stubbs will be giving a speech on Place Branding at the up coming Akademi Norr Seminar on Internationalization and Attractiveness. The seminar takes place in Arjeplog, Norrbotten County, Sweden, on the 5th and 6th December. Arjeplog sits within Swedish lapland.
Akademi Norr is a cross-border cooperation among 12 northern Swedish municipalities from four counties.
Julian Stubbs said 'It will be a fascinating place to visit so close to the polar circle during December, I'm really looking forward to it.' He continued 'All places and destinations need to find their own relevance and potential attractiveness if they are to survive in this globalised world. Julian Stubbs is a brand strategist, writer and presenter who has worked with developing brand strategies and identities for a wide range of organisations and places. From Technicolor, the Hollywood movie company to the Nobel Peace Prize Concert, to the city of Stockholm, in Sweden.
His first business book, titled ‘Wish You Were Here’,explores the branding of places and destinations as well as his work for the city of Stockholm, where Julian created the brand positioning and tag line ‘Stockholm, The Capital of Scandinavia’. His new book, to be published this December, is on working through the cloud and building alternative business models with cloud based service companies. Today Julian is working with a number of place branding projects at both city and municipality level. He has most recently given speeches on City Branding in Liverpool and Amsterdam and he is involved with the branding and positioning of the city of Oslo, Norway.
