The Big Data Challenge
Five percent of Global IT spending is now being channeled into solving the challenges of Big Data according to a May 2011 report from McKinsey. This level of spending reflects the magnitude and urgency of the Big Data challenge and points to the value that most enterprises believe they can unlock from their data.

However, Big Data presents enterprises with two major challenges: accessing and managing the volume and variety of data available inside and outside of their organization and deriving actionable insights from this data.

To address these challenges, IBM and Jaspersoft have joined together to integrate Jaspersoft's easy-to-use reporting, dashboard and analytic tools with IBM InfoSphere BigInsights, an Enterprise-grade distribution of Hadoop.
