Dohi Sweden wants to shed light on what might be the most practiced form of music in the world, a phenomenon called Table Drumming.Tabledrum.com, a community on the internet has been started and it is a place where enthusiasts can gather to show their talent and find inspiration. The blast-off for tabledrum.com is a worldwide challenge in which anyone can record their own table drumming video.

Doing table drumming is very easy, you drum on a table or any other available surface in order to create a rhythm, like the primitive form of music that arose hundreds of thousands of years ago when humans drummed with sticks and stones. No cumbersome equipment is needed, just use what is available, like pencils, fingers or the pans in the kitchen.

“Table drumming is a blast and it's also something the everyone can practice”, says Lars Lundberg, designer and amateur table drummer at Dohi Sweden. “We hope that this challenge will bring forth prominent people that will inspire the younger generations of table drummers, kind of what happened with the skateboarding culture in the 70s.”

The goal of the challenge is for the participants to record a video, where they use their creativity to table drum as good as possible. The videos that become most popular will win great prices and also go through to the next round in the challenge.

The webpage tabledrum.com will be the gathering point. Besides all the user videos the site will also contain inspirational videos from more experienced table drummers as well as a short documentary about the subject.
