Gothenburg, Sweden, September 17, 2009. Within the framework of a VINNOVA project, Idevio has co-developed Seekstr, the official mobile phone application for the World Congress and exhibition on Intelligent Transport Systems and Services, ITS WC 2009.

Seekstr is a mobile companion for all travellers, with maps, directions and gps support. The service is built on Idevio's existing mobile platform Locago and will be released at the ITS WC 2009 in Stockholm at September 21-25.

In addition to giving access to the entire ITS WC 2009 congress program and all the exhibitors, Seekstr contains a blend of positioned personal and work-related events and business information. All delegates registered for ITS 2009 will receive an sms with a downloadable link for Seekstr.

"We are very excited about launching Seekstr. The service belongs to the new generation of travel guides, that utilizes the user's present location to show nearby points of interests, bus stops, services and entertainment", says Patric Nordström, CEO at Idevio.

Seekstr is developed within the Smart Mobile Travel Guide project, which intends to provide user-, situation- and position-dependent information in a seamless manner. The project shows a practical demonstration of an integrated mobile personal traffic information service used by travellers in Stockholm.

About the Seekstr project
The Seekstr project is a public private research project and is co-funded by VINNOVA (The Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems). The project aims at developing individual information support to relieve the complex everyday life with its demands for travel and movement. The project started in 2006 and will be finished in time for the ITS World Congress in Stockholm in September 2009. Participants in the projects are the Swedish Road Administration (VV), Stockholm Public Transport (SL), Blekinge Institute of Technology, Eniro, Idevio, Info24, Saab Security and WSP.
