Protest till israeliska ambassaden efter beskjutning

Svenska kyrkan lämnar idag in en officiell protest till Israels ambassad, efter att en klinik i Gaza beskjutits i helgen. Kliniken al Shuijaia clinic i Gaza, som delfinansieras av Svenska kyrkan totaltförstördes efter en raketattack i lördags kväll.
Protestbrevet är undertecknat av Svenska kyrkans utrikeschef Margareta Grape och har skickats till den israeliske ambassadören Benny Dagan. Protesten har även framförts muntligt per telefon.

Protestbrevet i sin helhet:

Dear Mr Ambassador,

We write to you deeply concerned about the grave incident Saturday night when the al Shuijaia clinic in Gaza, operated by one of our partners NECCRW: Near East Council of Churches Committee for Refugee Work and co-funded by the Church of Sweden, was attacked and completely destroyed by the Israeli military. The clinic was clearly marked as a health clinic.

We protest against the attack while noting that such attacks against civilian institutions are clearly in violation of international law. We take for granted that the State of Israel will conduct a full scale investigation into the matter without any delay.
