Sidstar: chiptune electronica debut album on Swedish label Meerkat Recordings

Accompanied by his tiny Teenage Engineering OP-1 synthesizer, Sidstar made his debut album in the mountains of Andalucia. Straightforward and melodic, his tracks are immediate reflections of the journey: birds chasing bugs in the pool, walks in the village of Algodonales and happy pugs stumbling about without a care in the world. Sidstar’s sound is inspired by Nintendo videogames while paying tribute to early synth pioneers. Sidstar’s productions span all the way between the naïve and the grandiose while still adhering to the “less is more” principle.
