It all started when the Swedish award winning Designer Peter Mäkelä was working on a new wallpaper collection. The pattern Pride Romance for wallpaper was the last pattern he introduced and the team at Designmäklarna just loved it! Camilla Näslund, salesmanager at Designmäklarna immediately knew what to do with this pattern - a royalty based design collection for gay rights as a charity project to support RFSL—The Swedish Federation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Rights. Pride Collection communicates crossing borders, expressing yourself, passion, sexuality and of course love itself. Much later we came in contact with the talented Swedish textile designer Anna Viktorsson that really was excited to design some more patterns for us. The most familiar for everybody is her own interpretation of the Rainbow also named Pride Rainbow. She leaves us with some great expressions to love and decorate the interior with.

-          It was a very easy decision to make when we decided that Pride Collection should bring in money to RFSL Sweden from all sales in Sweden, says Camilla Näslund, Sales manager and concept developer at Designmäklarna. We want a more understanding and loving community and this is our way of showing that we really care and want some changes in this matter. We contacted RFSL Sweden and they were very positive to our initiative and a close collaboration now starts.

-          We are very pleased with this unique collaboration and hope that more companies should follow Designmäklarnas example says Ulrika Westerlund, Federal Chairman of RFSL. The money will be used to develop RFSLs work internationally as well as in Sweden. This initiative is very welcome. We are an independent membership organization which thrives on people to get involved and give of their time and with an extra supply of money, we can work even more efficiently, continues Ulrika Westerlund.

Pride Collection will include patterns that will be used on wallpapers, tables, chairs, stools, coffee tables, tray tables, trays and wallstickers. Pride Collection is made in Sweden with great consideration for the environment.

The first pieces of Pride Collection are released at Scandic Malmen the 27^th of July during Stockholm Pride. Designmäklarna together with the designers will hold a charity auktion to the benefit of RFSL 27^th of July at 7.00 pm. The Collection is to be seen for the public at Scandic Malmen Götgatan 49-51 in Stockholm between 11am to 6 pm. The Collection will also be sold in Pride Park during Stockholm Pride and on the internet by QX.se
