Pop band A-ha Takes on first ever full length virtual reality concert!

WonderWorld VR brings the first ever full length VR-concert to the masses together with the legendary pop group a-ha.

A-ha has just completed its sold out world tour “Cast in Steel”, ending with a number of concerts in their home country Norway. A selection of them where filmed in virtual reality and have now been put together into a full scale VR-app experience for all the fans around the globe to see.

-It is a truly immersive experience to stand on the stage right beside the lead singer Morten Harket and keyboardist Magne Furuholmen as if you are part of the band, says Simon Romanus, founder of WonderWorld VR who made it all possible by producing, editing and distributing the unique VR-content.

Anyone with a smartphone can download the app “aha vr” to Android or iPhone. The material can also be viewed on YouTube in 360 or VR.

A-ha has always been in the frontline when it comes to innovations, starting with the classic music video “Take on me” from 1985. The decision to try VR wasn't too hard to take according to Magne Furuholmen.

“We are delighted to present the worlds first recorded full length VR-concert from one band. We have tested the result and the feeling of standing on scene with ourselves was quite surreal. This technology will allow people to share an experience of live music in new and innovative ways. We are happy to take a small part in this pioneering spirit by launching an untested territory. We hope you enjoy the show”.

The global Norwegian aluminium company Hydro was also backing this experience since they wanted a-ha to live forever thru VR as their products in aluminium are ever lasting.
