As the community arm of BEAT’ABOX Group, The Cajon Society’s core mission is for people of all ages from all walks of life, to be united musically through playing the cajon. To uphold our core mission, The Cajon Society presents BOX’OUT 2013: Singapore's Inaugural Cajon Festival.
BOX’OUT 2013 is made up of 3 main elements of the cajon,namely Making, Designing and Drum Circles. Through making and designing, youths get hands on in putting together cajons for elderly. Thereafter, youths and elderly will experience an intergenerational cohesion through Cajon Drum Circles. An unconventional arts and music festival, BOX’OUT introduces afresh perspective to youths’ contemporary arts and music culture, complementarily, promoting a lifestyle of active ageing to the elderly.
