Arthur has tried his hand at business since the age of 18. With music as his passion, he has performed as part of a group since his early 20s, doing shows with a group in Asia, and then going solo with a few friends, in the local arts scene. One of the local pioneer performers and trainers in cajon, Arthur saw the potential of this instrument, and pursued it with a passion, founding BEAT’ABOX in 2011. Arthur’s vision is to put Singapore on the map as a leading education provider in percussion and music, and a leading producer of unique cajons.

He has conducted cajon & percussion courses/workshop covering more than 10,000 students and corporate workers. Campuses such as Ang Mo Kio Secondary School, Coral Secondary School, Bendemeer Secondary, Anglo Chinese School Independent, Woodgrove Secondary School, Cresent Girls Secondary and corporates such as DBS Bank Ltd, Aviva Ltd, Shell Ltd and etc had benefited from his personal coaching/training. With a deep compassion for the underprivileged community, he has brought Cajon education to the elderlies, the visually handicapped, hearing impaired and youth-at-risk from children’s home and boys’ home. Allowing them to find a new-found joy in music, the cajon is a tool for him to engage them with a personal and rhythmic touch. (Beneficiaries such as Parkinson Disease Society, Gracehaven, SADEAF, SAVH and etc). As a young social entrepreneur, he shares BEAT’ABOX STORY and his enterprising spirit to various campuses and corporates, with a vision to impart and empower.
