SAVOUR THE FINER THINGS IN LIFE AT CAPITAL’S PRIVATE WHISKY ROOM

Press Releases   •   Oct 16, 2017 14:30 SGT

18 September 2017, Singapore – The Whisky Room, situated in Capital Zouk Singapore, is a quiet enclave amidst the boisterous club and is perfect for intimate conversations.

The exclusive space has limited table seating, a private bar with an assorted selection of 48 types of whiskies and barrel-aged cocktails. It also has a private whisky butler that is stationed within its modern yet rustic interior, adorned with curated art pieces by art consultancy, The Artling.

“The Whisky Room at Capital takes its inspiration from a classic trophy room of historical estates and mansions, but turns it on its head with a contemporary twist.

"Rainbow Deer" by Indonesian artist Abdi Setiawan is a contemporary and playful twist on taxidermy trophy mounts that line the walls of game rooms, while the series of paintings by Filipino artist Ronson Culibrina resembles Old Master portraits often hung in corridors of stately homes in the Edwardian period. ” – Yunyi Lau, Gallery Liaison, The Artling.

For the ease of selecting the perfect whisky, a flavour map is provided on the menu. Whiskies by the glass are available, starting from $17. For the seasoned whisky lovers, The Whisky Room at Capital also offers a range limited edition, rare collector’s bottles, which includes $36,000 bottle of The Dalmore Constellation 1971 Cask 2.

To spice up palates, Capital offers an array of barrel-aged cocktails that is aged for up to three months. The oak barrel imparts notes of wood and vanilla, whilst the aging process also mellows out the harshness of the spirits, harmonising the flavours. Have it neat or over ice for a smoother finish. Each barrel only holds 40 glasses, so it is a long wait to try these notable flavour profiles once a barrel is finished.

“The Whisky Room is perfect for party goers who prefer a quiet enclave away from the buzz of the club. After all, whisky is the beverage of leisure and soul-making.” – Ben Yap, Senior VIP Manager

Whether you are a seasoned or an amateur whisky-drinker, our whisky butlers are at hand to accommodate your soft spots and enquires. Existing members and VIPs have access to the private lounge. Table reservations are highly recommended due to the limited seating.

For table bookings, please contact Benjamin Yap, Senior VIP Manager, at benyap@zoukclub.com.

Zouk Singapore charges into the future with a fully evolved clubbing epicentre at the Clarke Quay entertainment precinct. Maintaining the concept of an all-encompassing venue synonymous with the Zouk brand that many have come to love, the current Zouk Singapore complex comprises of four distinctive yet independent outlets – Zouk, Phuture, Capital and Red Tail Bar by Zouk.

All of which, are specifically conceptualized to cater to different age groups and target profiles through a spectrum of varying atmospheres, experiences and music programmes. A key interior design feature strategized with flexibility in mind, the Zouk and Phuture outlets can be merged by shifting the soundproof partition wall which divides the two outlets to form a “super-club” arena to accommodate bigger acts and larger-scale events.

Run Up an Appetite for Beer with Your Peers. Singapore’s Latest Lifestyle Event - Run for Beer 2017

Press Releases   •   Sep 20, 2017 12:10 SGT

SINGAPORE, 4 September – Come Friday, 24 November 2017, the city’s premier nightlife destination Clarke Quay will host Singapore’s largest beer running event. The inaugural Run for Beer 2017 aims to celebrate friendship, bonding and active living through the common love for beer.

It will be the first time that a beer-related sport event will be held and promoted in the heart of the city. The race will start at Clarke Quay’s Fountain Square and follows through a breezy 3.2km running route along the Singapore River, showcasing some of Singapore’s cityscape landmarks such as the Raffles Landing Site, Boat Quay and Cavenagh Bridge. The route’s finish line will bring runners back to Clarke Quay where they will be ‘rewarded’ with beer and exclusive F&B discounts at various merchant partners. At the Fountain Square, there will also be a host of post-run activities that include live band performances, stage games and more.

As the founder of the Cold Storage Kids Run and GE Women’s 10K, Enterprise Sports Group (ESG) now explores bringing together the passion points of running and beer. “We recognise that there is a segment of people who love beer as much as leading an active lifestyle. We decided to put together this social fun event in heart of the city. Running has always been a popular sport in Singapore and enjoying a good beer, especially among friends, is just as beloved,” said Mr David Sim, Executive Director of event organiser ESG.

“We see Run for Beer as the ideal event where participants can hang out with good friends for the perfect TGIF by getting a simple work out before enjoying the cold beers and continuing to have a great time at Clarke Quay. We also want to use this event as a platform to promote responsible drinking and will be working closely with event partners in this area.”

It is also strongly encouraged that participants creatively dress up for the event as they stand to win attractive prizes across five fancy dress categories, namely “Best Dressed: Male, Female, Team, Organisation and CEO”. ESG is working closely with a costume partner to provide discounts, further encouraging participants to bring colour and vibrancy to the event.

“As one of Singapore’s most popular riverfront lifestyle destinations, Clarke Quay is synonymous with entertainment and good food. We are thus excited to host the first Run for Beer. We have a wide range of F&B and entertainment outlets within Clarke Quay that cater to different groups of people; making it possible for the event’s participants to continue their merriment into the night with their buddies. Hosting Run for Beer further reinforces Clarke Quay’s position at the forerunner of new and exciting events,” said Mr Adrian Lai, Centre Manager of Clarke Quay.

All participants will receive a specially-designed event tee, finisher’s medal and special promotions from participating Clarke Quay outlets as well as complimentary cold beers, which will only be served to participants after completing the run on event day.

“At ESG, we like to present new event experiences to people. We look forward to a strong participation in this event and will really like to thank our corporate partners Clarke Quay, American Express and TimeOut Singapore for their support in our endeavor,” said David Sim.

Run for Beer 2017 registration commenced on Monday, 4 September 2017.
