CLARKE QUAY OKTOBERFEST 2017: A GUIDE TO REVELING AT THE MOST RENOWNED GERMAN EVENT

SINGAPORE, SEPTEMBER 2017 – Let the sounds of the brass Alphorns fill the air, as Clarke Quay presents the 8th Edition of Oktoberfest. On 6 & 7 October 2017, from 7pm, dress your Trachten1 best, and raise a stein or two to a weekend of beers, bratwursts and Bavarian festivities at the Clarke Quay Fountain Square. Here’s how to get the celebrations started even before the first tap on the keg (O’zapft is!2).

ADD A LITTLE OOMPAH TO THE EVENING WITH DIE DORF FEST KAPELLE

Decked in blue and white streams of ribbons and hanging wreaths, the Fountain Square will be transformed into a small-scale Wiesn3. Dance under the technicoloured canopy as Oktoberfest band, Die Dorf Fest Kapelle, will be performing traditional German Waltzes, Polkas and Marches. Though they hail from the UK, the 5 members are able to belt out Bavarian renditions of popular Top 40s tracks.

MUNICH BEERS ONLY, A PARTNERSHIP WITH PAULANER CLARKE QUAY

Only beers brewed within the city limits of Munich, Germany can be considered Oktoberfest Beers. To stay true to traditions, Paulaner Clarke Quay is once again our Official Event Partner for the second year, bringing the good ol’ Paulaner Oktoberfest Bier brewed in Munich. The beer has an initial sweetness and a strong malt aftertaste, which pairs perfectly with the German snacks available: savoury Sauerkraut, crispy Pork Knuckle with homemade Beef Gravy, and Pan-fried Potato Salad, just to name a few.

HOLD ON TO YOUR LEDERHOSEN4, THE PARTY HAS JUST BEGUN!

Grab a partner and compete in a variety of Oktoberfest related games. Old favourites await players such as Mug Pong and Bottle Cap Toss at the booths, or take the battle to the stage with the Oktoberfest Chicken Dance Off and other exciting challenges; there are Paulaner vouchers and premiums to be won. Snag a picture with one of die Kellnerin5, or commemorate the night after claiming bragging rights with an instant picture at the photo booth. Hashtag #CQoktoberfest and stand a chance to win prizes. Admission is free!
