McGettigan’s Clarke Quay launches weekly Open Mic Night

Monday nights at McGettigan’s are fast becoming the go-to spot for musicians, singers, songwriters and aspiring artists thanks to the launch of its brand new weekly open mic night.

Hosted by pianist and vocalist Aynsley Green, and running from 7.30pm until midnight, the night continues the time-honoured tradition of giving professional musicians a place to network, and amateurs an avenue to break into the scene.

All genres of music are welcome, from country and folk singers to horn players and solo singer-songwriters, with even the occasional guest appearance by cast members of musicals who are in town; there is a sound for all. Professionals from Singapore's rock, pop and jazz scenes will often be found coming out to play out-of-the-ordinary pieces, new material, or improvising entire tunes.

With McGettigans' providing full stage set-up, participants just need to turn up and register with the host. Registration can also take place in advance by emailing clarkequay@mcgettigans.com, with all performers entitled to selected free drinks.

Special promotions on the night include 2 for 1 on a range of classic, frozen and fruit Margaritas from 5pm until late. Perfectly paired with McGettigan's Signature Wings, with a special 40oz bucket only $25++ on Monday’s.
