Press release -

East Marine commissions one of the largest excavator in the region for its rock discharge barge

Named 'DB-II' after its predecessor 'DB-01',East Marine commissioned the conversion of their existing flat top barge into a specialised rock discharging barge with a monster digger, the Hitachi EX1900, mounted on, to discharge rocks and stones onto the seabed.

All in the name of productivity, the innovatively improved 'DB-II' has a wider hull dimension, larger excavator capacity of 15.7m3, longer travelling distance of moon pool, powerful mooring winch and a more precise kinetic DPGS which contributes to higher productivity, lesser manual operation (manpower) and better accuracy.

A traditional Shinto ceremony was held this afternoon where sake and salt was used to bless and purify the machine.
