Are you and your home SUMMER types?

Summer provides an abundance of interior inspiration - from calming beaches to vibrant gardens and so on. If you’re a summer-type, colours such as yellow, orange and beige are great shades to consider. Bright summer colours can deliver as much or as little energetic pop as you desire, depending on the shade you choose. Go bright to reflect that optimistic, fun-loving personality of yours.

Sunshine Burst

For the adventurous, feel free to go wild with bright colours. However, this doesn’t mean you have to cover your walls, windows and furniture completely with bright, strong colours. In fact, having everything in your room in the same colours and/or shades would actually make your place feel flat. So consider leaving at least one wall in a more muted colour and keep your furniture in lighter colours.

If you want very clear contrasts, choose light-coloured flooring. If you want to connect your walls with your flooring, then go for similar wood toned floors instead such as our Laminate Arte – Versailles Light option

By the Beach

Because summer colours are so vibrant, all you really need is just a few furniture pieces and accessories in those shades to feel the summer heat. Choose a few stronger retro-type furniture pics, like in this living room with its bright browns and blue, and yellow and orange cushions that help bring together the sofa and chairs. Anybody want to sit on the wooden deck of a chalet by the beach? You can do that now. In the comfort of your own home.

Grey is an interesting versatile design choice that can work with everything from modern and urban interiors to rustic and beachy themes. And let’s be clear: we’re not talking about a boring, flat, stodgy color. Grey is extremely popular in home design, working well as either a backdrop or a statement.

You can go for darker grey Luxurious Resilient Flooring (LURF) that looks like natural wood such as LURF Pulse Autumn Oak Warm Grey, or Pulse Cotton Oak Grey with Saw Cuts. There are also resilient floors that look like authentic concrete tiles (without the problems of concrete flooring!) such as LURF Ambient, which has three shade options: Light Concrete, Warm Grey Concrete, and Dark Grey Concrete.

Gardening Time

Having a Summer interior doesn’t necessarily mean you have to use only bright sunny colours. A colour palette of tan and beige are reminiscent of quiet gardens and tea time among flowers in the summer. Light-coloured and neutral tones for your furniture and flooring will help add softness to the room, while providing a calm landscape for pops of colour to shine - look at what just having a single orange cushion, throw, or small vase of flowers can do to a room.

Alternatively, you can use baby blue tones to soften your room, and pair it off with pops of yellow. Contrast that with darker floors to make your room look wider. For example, the LURF Pulse – Autumn Oak Brown can help offset your light-coloured room beautifully.
