Every year 50,000 people depend on the 122 year old Humanitarian vessel Vega as their sole provider of educational and medical supplies. Now, without a new mast, that help is in danger.

6 days ago we discovered what looked like a small rot spot in our aft mast. What it turned into is a nightmare. Vega's entire 2014 Mission of Mercy is now at risk unless we can find a way to replace this mast.

A 120 year old Norwegian built Historic Sailing Vessel for Humanitarian Relief

Every year the award winning 120 year old Norwegian built sailing vessel Vega’s all volunteer crew deliver between 15-20 tons of donated tools, farming, educational, and medical supplies to some of South East Asia’s poorest island communities. During the North East Monsoon VEGA visits Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand gathering donated supplies and attracting attention to the needs of the communities she assists. During the South East Monsoon she is busy sailing an average of 4,000 miles to deliver those supplies.
