We are pleased to invite you to the NBAS Annual General Meeting 2016, followed by a Breakfast Talk by Mr Håkon Bruaset Kjøl from Telenor Group.

19 years of doing business in Asia

Telenor's journey in Asia started almost two decades ago and its operations currently accounts for more than half of the Group's revenues and 90 percent of its customer base. Telenor is on track to connect 200 million people to the internet by 2017 and the Telenor logo is now visible to more than 1 billion people across its six Asian markets, spanning from Pakistan to Malaysia. This makes Telenor one of the largest Norwegian consumer brands, rivaled only by "Norwegian Salmon".

Håkon Bruaset Kjøl has worked and lived in Asia since 2000 and is part of the team which established Telenor in the region. In his presentation, he will share his perspectives on the critical factors behind Telenor's success in Asia.

Håkon joined the Telenor Group in 1995, starting his career with the company in the domestic mobile operation in Norway. Since then, he has gained extensive international experience through his strategic involvement in Telenor's international mobile activities where he played significant roles in operational development and merger and acquisition activities both in Europe and Asia.

For the last 15 years, he has been based in Asia where he continues to assume a key role in the development of the Group strategy for Asia, and managing the Asia business environment to include the areas of legal and regulatory, public affairs, government relations, strategic communications and corporate responsibility.

Håkon is a former student of Norges Markeds Høyskole (BI Norwegian Business School) in Oslo, where he specialized in marketing and public relations subjects. Håkon resides in Singapore.

Mr. Kjøl serves on the board of several of Telenor Group subsidiaries in Singapore, Myanmar, Pakistan, Thailand and Bangladesh.
