Outlook 2015 - Where are China and Norway headed? China Club 5 Dec 2014

All Norwegians and friends of Norway are welcome to a short and succinct brief on the economic outlook for next year. We set out to answer these questions:

Where is the Chinese economy headed in 2015? Are we looking at a “new normal” of slower, yet more robust growth underpinned by economic reforms and domestic demand? Or will a falling real estate market, local debt and shadow banking finally bite the Chinese dragon in its tail? Chris Rynning of Origo plc in Beijing will give you his take on the Chinese economy in 2015.

And how about Norway – how does 2015 look with lower oil prices and a weaker currency? How much will falling oil prices hurt? Are we no longer a “special case”, isolated from challenges? Will low oil prices help diversify our economy? And what does all this imply for real estate prices and interest rates? Steinar Juel, Nordea’s Chief Economist, shares his Norwegian macro outlook for next year.

In addition, Anita Krohn Traaseth, the new CEO of Innovation Norway, will reflect on the role and potential of Norwegian companies in the global economy.

We hope to see many of you there!
