Pan Pacific Singapore appoints Kurt Roelli as Master Butcher
7 March 2019, Singapore — Pan Pacific Singapore has appointed Mr. Kurt Roelli as Master Butcher.
As Master Butcher, Kurt is responsible for the efficient production and operation of the butchery department, oversees product quality and ensures high international standards of hygiene are observed.
A Swiss native, Kurt’s journey in butchery started at the age of 16 years old. Intrigued by the flavours and textures of different meats, he enrolled in a professional butcher school in Frauenfeld, Switzerland to learn more about the art of sausage making.
In search of fresh perspectives and new experiences, having completed his master butchery course in Switzerland, Kurt decided to venture out to Libya where he worked as a camp manager and chef before moving across the globe to work. Among the countries and hotels that he was attached to were The Sheraton in Philippines where he was a master butcher and sous chef, and as a master butcher at Holiday Inn in Singapore, Ramada Renaissance and Shilla Hotel in Korea.
In 1991, Kurt arrived in Malaysia and established Euro Deli. He opened 3 restaurants, 16 retail outlets, and a factory to produce hams and sausages. He also taught in higher-learning institutions and was a food consultant.
With his vast knowledge of butchery and many years of experience, Kurt wishes to create even more butchery products for Pan Pacific Singapore as well as enhance the tastes and quality of the hams and sausages to offer guests an exciting new selection in addition to the traditional favourites.
Passionate about football, Kurt founded the Malaysian Grasshoppers, a football club in Malaysia in the year 1993, which is still running. Due to his prior experience as a food consultant, Kurt became fascinated with Chinese food. He then started curating Chinese barbequed pork dishes at home. He also enjoys exploring the great outdoors.
Pan Pacific Singapore has produced quality sausages and hams since 1987 which are distributed at hotels, premium supermarkets, cafes, airlines catering companies and restaurants.
