International investors seek the next great technology

Techventure is the foremost place for global technopreneurs and investors to meet in Southeast Asia, with an expected turnout of over 50 global and local investors, more than 160 startups and 1,000 attendees.

Top investors who will be present include Chris Wade, Venture Partner at Octopus Venture/ Entrepreneur First, Jason Wong Sze Tchung, Managing Director of Horizons Ventures Limited and companies such as the Russian Venture Company (RVC), Global Brain from Japan, Golden Gate Ventures from Singapore.

Aki Nakamura, Managing Director, Intellectual Capital Management says, “My company is an innovation consulting firm mainly helping Japanese MNC's. The Japanese market is big, already saturated, and Japanese companies need a different avenue to grow; so Southeast Asia, after China, is a natural choice.”

“Singapore has exceeded my expectations. The technology and the business model are even better than what I originally thought, even compared to the United States. It is very interesting and Techventure presents a great opportunity for networking and identifying innovative technology,” she added.

First-time startups that will exhibit and participate at Techventure this year include progressclaim.com from Australia which enables companies to lodge standardised payment claims and schedules online through any smart device; TRIK and VisionLabs from Russia, the former designs unified platforms for service and personal robotics that shorten the path from idea to prototype while the latter has a cloud based service that enables retailers to recognise loyal customers and analyse customer profiles to increase sales.Techventure 2015 provides exposure to startups and their technologies, and gives them opportunities to reach out to investors, corporate and government funds to take them to the next level of development.

To be held from 21-22 September 2015 at the Marina Bay Sands, Techventure pairs investors with startups through facilitated and targeted meetings on both days. One-to-one matches between startups and investors will be organised and targeted investor sessions will be held. All interactions will be tracked and ranked, allowing for easy follow-up post-conference.
