Horangi appoints Steve Surdu, Mike Leyden to drive growth throughout the region
SINGAPORE: One of the region’s leading cybersecurity companies, Horangi Cyber Security, a company that offers the latest in product innovation and technology to comprehensively secure organizations of all sizes, backed by a team of CREST-certified global cyber security experts in Asia has announced that veteran builder of elite cybersecurity teams, Steve Surdu, is joining Horangi as Senior Advisor. Horangi has also appointed Mike Leyden as Vice President, Revenue to grow their business across the region.

Mike is a proven sales leader who has scaled and led global enterprise sales organizations at multiple venture-backed companies in Silicon Valley.”
Steve Surdu brings more than 35 years of experience in professional services, solutions delivery. Previously the VP of Professional Services at Mandiant, Steve spent over 7 years building out one of the most elite cybersecurity teams in the world. At Mandiant he directed the activities of the consulting and education teams, ensuring the company provides unsurpassed service to its clients. Steve brings his experience with clients in the financial services, high technology, healthcare, manufacturing, state and federal government, and retail industries.
Steve says, “The challenge within Asia is that there are relatively few cybersecurity professionals. There's a great limitation around the world, but it is especially acute in Asia. And that's where you need organizations that like Horangi that you can tap into their expertise and apply that either at the strategic level or the more tactical.”
“I have worked in services organizations and I’ve worked in product organizations, and one of the major issues or limitations associated with product companies is they are attempting to have their product be the entire answer,” he added. “In security, generally the successful implementation of product depends very significantly on the human component ensuring that they tailored. When I work with Horangi, I see them focusing on the human element just as much as their products, and I think that's a really good thing.”
Mike Leyden has more than 15 years of sales and leadership experience in media and technology. His deep operational expertise comes with emphasis on go-to-market strategy and execution, along with a focus on SaaS. At Horangi, Mike will be responsible for sales team leadership to accelerate growth of Horangi's revenue. He is charged with expanding Horangi's go-to-market organization, including the development of new channels and to contribute to the company’s customer lifecycle strategy.

Mike is a graduate of Monash University, Melbourne, where he completed a Bachelor of Laws. Prior to joining Horangi, Leyden gained expertise growing and leading high-performance sales teams in North America and globally at Nitro, Lob and Dealpath.
