Testament to SMRT’s continual commitment to provide greater convenience and accessibility to passengers in wheelchairs, SMRT will be introducing Wheelchair Accessible Bus (WAB) services on three more service routes: Services 902, 965 and 969. These improvements will be implemented from 7 July 2013.
Following this round of improvements, there will be a total of 34 WAB services (or 50% of SMRT’s basic bus services) operated by SMRT Buses. Every SMRT WAB can accommodate one to two wheelchairs depending on the bus model, and a blue WAB decal is prominently displayed at the front of the bus to indicate that it is a WAB service. In addition, there are two decals on the front doors seeking passengers’ understanding and patience while our Bus Captain attends to a passenger in wheelchair first. We appreciate passengers’ cooperation and patience on this.
Please refer to the attached poster for more details on the new and existing WAB services.
Passengers may contact SMRT Customer Relations at 1800-336-8900 on weekdays (excluding public holidays) from 7.30am to 6.30pm or visit www.smrt.com.sg for more information.
