"REDI is a significant project for us in many ways. This order includes the fastest residential building elevators in Finland traveling at a speed of 5 m/s. The elevators in the towers feature tailored interiors designed by the architect. We are also exploring other KONE solutions with SRV to further smoothen people flow in this high-rise environment, including our smart destination control system," says Noud Veeger, Executive Vice President for KONE Central and North Europe.
"REDI is a unique high-rise hybrid development in Finland and we wanted to work with a partner with extensive experience in similar projects. Cooperation with KONE using their people flow solutions felt like a natural fit," says Juha Toimela, Managing Director of SRV Construction Ltd.
REDI is a destination and shopping hub in Helsinki, Finland, that combines modern living with urban culture in a brand new way. The REDI shopping center is expected to open in 2018. The residential towers will open in phases with first residents expected to be able to move in by 2018. The entire center is expected to be complete by 2023.
The first part of the order was booked in the fourth quarter of 2015.
