The contract covers Line Maintenance, Fleet Management and Heavy/Light Maintenance services for Singapore Airlines’ additional fifteen A330-300
Mainboard-listed SIA Engineering Company Limited (SIAEC) today announced it has signed a Tailored Support Package (TSP) contract with Airbus S.A.S (Airbus) to maintain Singapore Airlines’ (SIA) additional fleet of fifteen A330-300 aircraft being acquired from Airbus.
SIAEC is a member of the Airbus Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) Network established in 2005. The Airbus MRO Network ensures that Airbus’ customers receive maintenance services of outstanding quality from specially appointed MRO service providers.
Under the contract, SIAEC will provide a wide range of MRO services, including transit and light maintenance checks, defect rectification, cabin maintenance, fleet management and heavy maintenance checks at SIAEC’s facilities in Singapore. SIA will receive delivery of the A330-300 from 2013.
Mr William Tan, Chief Executive Officer of SIAEC, said: “We are delighted that Airbus has awarded us for the third time in three years another long-term contract. Since 1981 when we started maintenance of the A300, SIAEC has developed a deep bench of expertise on a wide range of Airbus aircraft. SIAEC was the first in the world to maintain the technologically advanced A380; recently, it completed the world’s first 48-month heavy maintenance check on the A380. With three decades of Airbus experience behind us, we are confident of delivering top quality maintenance services and engineering support for SIA’s entire fleet of A330-300.” The transaction is not expected to have a material impact on SIAEC’s financial performance in FY2011/12. None of the Directors or executive officers of SIAEC has any interest, direct or indirect, in the transaction.
