The Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Navy (RTN) Admiral (ADM) Surasak Runroengrom called on Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen at the Ministry of Defence this afternoon. ADM Surasak, who is in Singapore from 10 to 12 January 2012 for his introductory visit, also called on Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General Neo Kian Hong and Chief of Navy Rear-Admiral Ng Chee Peng earlier today.

As part of his programme, ADM Surasak also visited Changi Naval Base.

ADM Surasak's visit underscores the close and long-standing defence relations between Singapore and Thailand. The Republic of Singapore Navy and the RTN interact regularly through exercises, visits, courses and other professional exchanges. These interactions help enhance the rapport and understanding between the officers and men of the two navies.
