Singapore, 19 June 2013 - Sydney-based digital agency, TheFARM Digital is excited to announce the acquisition of Barnett Interactive to coincide with the official opening of our doors in Singapore. The acquisition is the first step towards accelerating TheFARM’s plans to expand its services across Asia.
Barnett Interactive is the digital and social media arm of The Barnett Group, a Singapore-based integrated marketing agency focusing on digital solutions, social media & youth marketing. The Barnett Interactive digital team will integrate seamlessly with TheFARM’s insights & research-led approach and compliment the new venture with its depth of local market knowledge, existing relationships and clients. “The opportunity we saw to collaborate with Barnett Interactive presents a great fit with our company vision and values. They are passionate about digital, had a strong methodology around social that was aligned with ours & worked with great clients such as Citibank, The Singapore Institute of Technology, Costa Coffee & CapitaMalls. It’s a really exciting time for us” says Chris Pile, Founder and Executive Director of TheFARM, who is now heading up the expansion into Asia.
Barnett Interactive will integrate TheFARM’s strategic approach as they continue to work with existing clients. Vincent Ha & Althea Lim, The Barnett Group’s founders will step back and play an advisory role as the Barnett team joins TheFARM Singapore, which gives them time to focus on Gushcloud, an influencer marketing start-up. Barnett Group’s General Manager, Jason Cheang, takes up the position of Client Business Director for TheFARM Singapore. As a director of The Barnett Group & former manager at the Singapore Tourism Board, Jason has an intimate knowledge of the local market & the digital landscape in Singapore. “We’ve known TheFARM for some time and have always admired their approach and work in Australia. We believe this is a great opportunity to effectively leverage both agencies’ experience to grow the work and expertise for both existing and new clients” says Jason.
TheFARM’s co-partner John Guest has moved into a Group CEO role and will work with the combined teams in Sydney and Singapore to drive synergy across the business and ensure TheFARM leverages its depth of capability and experience across each market. “Moving into Singapore is a really exciting first step into Asia and we’re looking forward to expanding the team and growing our client partnerships across the region.
